Take a Cotswolds Day Trip from London or Oxford

Thankfully there are regular trains which can bring you to the Cotswolds from London or Oxford. We will greet you at Moreton in Marsh railway station before being whisked off to many delightful villages and market towns. Why not take our Famous Cotswolds Tour, we are the only local Cotswolds tour company which visits Bibury, you will discover the history of this delightful little village and discover how the locals lived in times gone by. During the Cotswolds day trip we will also visit The Slaughters, which have such an unfortunate name for two such stunning villages! Whilst you are exploring the village of Lower Slaughter you can pop into the Church or visit the gift shop housed in the Old Mill, or even have time to sit beside the mill pond and enjoy your morning tea of coffee should you choose. Both villages huddle along the River Eye, you will often see riders crossing this narrow river, during the summer months the horses seem to revel in getting their hooves wet. The village of Upper Slaughter, feels more remote and provides a nice contrast to its neighbour. It has an impressive manor house, possibly one of the best examples of Elizabethan architecture in the Cotswolds, a small village square and beautiful church. You feel hidden from the crowds in this stunning high wold village. You can’t visit the Cotswolds on a tour without seeing Bourton on the Water, where we stop over lunch. You can explore the lanes with their many shops, choose to eat in the local bakeries or pubs, visit the motor museum or the model village or just wander and soak up the atmosphere. In the afternoon we visit the lovely market town of Stow on the Wold. One of my favourites, you can admire the oldest inn in England, try out the stocks, take a look at ‘Tolkien’s Door’ visit the local independent stores and antique shops. Unlike other tour companies you have ample time to relax and explore all the locations we visit, so depending on your interests you can make the most of your Cotswold day tour with us because we cover all the history & local stories on route, giving you maximum time at each location, we spend more time out of the minibus than in it!
