North Cotswolds Day 1:

Your day starts by visiting one of the oldest sites in the Cotswolds, Rollright Stones. These neolithic standing stones predate Stonehenge!! You will discover the folklore surrounding this site & try your hand at the ancient art of dowsing. Next we travel on to the nearby hidden village of Adlestrop, linked to two famous writers. Edward Thomas’s poem about the village epitomises the Cotswolds. Even a hundred years on, his description of this sleepy village is apt. You will wander down the village lanes & marvel at the peace & tranquillity. This village is also connected to one of our most celebrated novelists, here you will uncover the association between this beautiful village & Jane Austen.

We will then head on to visit the most famous village in the Northern Cotswolds, Bourton on the Water. Wander along the river, crossing little stone bridges. This is the perfect stop for morning coffee where you can spend time watching the world go by or exploring the little stores. After the hustle & bustle of Bourton on the Water we will drive through the hills to visit the gorgeous village of Stanton. Here you will see thatched cottages, visit a wonderful church & often hear the clip clop of horse’s hooves along the main street. After all your exploring you will have built up an appetite so our next stop will be Broadway. This beautiful large village with its treelined street & lots of independent eateries & shops is the ideal venue for a snack or more extensive meal. It is only a short journey on to the quintessential village of Snowshill, this picture perfect village has wonderful views. Next we will head to the thriving town of Chipping Campden where you can wander along the narrow main street enjoying the architectural delights of the homes & store fronts. You can visit a Cotswolds ‘Wool’ church, see the ruins of a once outstanding manor, admire beautifully crafted buildings. Lastly we will head to our secret village, off the main tourist trail, with thatched cottages & a wonderful little café with cakes baked by locals. It is the perfect way to end your first day exploring.

South Cotswolds Day 2:

On your second day you will start by visiting the incredibly pretty village of Bibury. Famous around the world for its beautiful row of cottages. Enjoy a circular walk around the nature reserve, look out for brown trout in the crystal clear waters & have your camera ready as you stroll past these beautiful cottages.

Next you will head on to the regal village of Tetbury, perfect for morning coffee as you stroll along the main street, admiring the architecture & popping into a antique shop or a little independent store. Although you won't see Highgrove (the home of King Charles) on this tour the town has it's very own shop selling an array of regal inspired gifts from edible delights like Highgrove honey, jams & chocolates to homeware.

Next we will travel on to the 'prettiest Village in England' located in the picture perfect village of Castle Combe, our most southerly point on the tour. You will feel like you are walking through a film set...& you are! Many movie's & period dramas have used this beautiful villages as a backdrop.

All this exploring & you will be getting a little peckish, so our next stop is the charming market town of Malmesbury. Famous for tigers & flying monks! This friendly little town has a selection of eateries & you will have time to explore the Abbey if you wish.

As we travel back towards the North Cotswolds, we still have two stops left. The charming Slaughter villages! First we will stop in Lower Slaughter, walk along a street often voted 'the most romantic' in England, see the beautiful water mill & admire the pretty village homes. We will then head onto our last stop, the doubly thankful village of Upper Slaughter. This is the smallest village on the tour, take a stroll down the hill to the village centre for the perfect photo opportunity. A wonderful way to end the day.
