2 Day Cotswolds Bucket List Shared Group Tour
9am to 4pm each day
£250 per person, maximum 7 guests per tour.
Day 1:
Your day starts by visiting one of the oldest sites in the Cotswolds, Rollright Stones. These neolithic standing stones predate Stonehenge!! You will discover the folklore surrounding this site & try your hand at the ancient art of dowsing. We will then travel onto the gloriously peaceful village of Adlestrop, linked to two famous writers. Edward Thomas’s poem about the village epitomises the Cotswolds. Even a hundred years on, his description of this sleepy village is apt. You will wander down the village lanes & marvel at the peace & tranquillity. This village is also connected to one of our most celebrated novelists, here you will uncover the association between this beautiful village & Jane Austen.
Or next stop is the highest market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, Stow on the Wold. Famous for its market square filled with independent shops & cafes, you can wander and immerse yourself in the towns fabulous history. Visit the town stocks & Tolkien's door, or even have a quick pint at England's oldest inn. Taking a wonderful scenic drive we will arrive at the gorgeous village of Stanton. Here you will see thatched cottages, visit a wonderful church & often hear the clip clop of horse’s hooves along the main street.
After all your exploring you will no doubt be ready for lunch so we will head to Broadway. This beautiful large village with its treelined street & lots of independent stores, restaurants & cafe's. Ideal for a genteel stroll & a little retail therapy. Or relax on the village green with a picnic from the local deli if the sun is shinning.
We will travel onto visit the charming town of Chipping Campden where you can wander along the narrow main street enjoying the architectural delights of the homes & store fronts. You can visit a Cotswolds ‘Wool’ church, see the ruins of a once outstanding manor, admire beautifully crafted buildings.
Lastly we will head to our secret village, off the main tourist trail, with thatched cottages & a wonderful little café with cakes baked by locals. It is the perfect way to end your first day exploring the Cotswolds.
DAY 2:
Ready for another great day exploring? You are in for a treat! Your first stop of the day, is the beautiful village of Snowshill. This picture perfect village was once a wedding gift for a Queen. Walk along the quiet streets, peak over the wall into the manor house, make sure you have your camera ready to snap all the pretty cottages lining the village street.
Driving through the hills we will head to the village of Lower Slaughter. Walk along a street often voted 'the most romantic' in England, see the beautiful water mill & admire the pretty village homes.
Next we will visit one of the most famous villages in the North Cotswolds, Bourton on the Water. Wander along the river, crossing little stone bridges. This is the perfect stop for morning coffee where you can spend time watching the world go by or exploring the little stores.
Now we are nearing lunch time, we will head to the fabulous hillside town of Burford. Classed as one of the 'Gateway's to the Cotswolds' Explore this quirky town, where the houses, shops & pubs all seem to lean & bend their way up the hill, as you wander soak up the ambience & enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon we will head to the incredibly pretty village of Bibury. Famous around the world for its beautiful row of cottages. Enjoy a circular walk around the nature reserve, look out for brown trout in the crystal clear waters & have your camera ready as you stroll past these beautiful cottages.
Our last stop of the day is the tranquil village of Upper Slaughter. Find out why the residents here are 'doubly-thankful', take a stroll down the hill to the village centre for the perfect photo opportunity.

Meet at
Moreton in Marsh
Railway Station
Get ready for your day exploring by heading to Moreton in Marsh Railway Station to meet your guide Richard.
Group tours start at 9am
Stay in one of the nearby hotels, The White Hart Royal, The Redesdale Arms, The Bell Inn or The Manor House Hotel. All are an easy walk to the railway station

Rollright Stones
Visit the Cotswolds very own version of Stonehenge! This site is set up high on the Cotswolds ridge line, affording amazing views across Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire & Warwickshire. You will discover the fascinating folklore linked to these stones, along with trying the ancient art of dowsing to find 'ley-lines'
Adlestrop
This hidden gem of a village is off the main tourist trail but hides two fabulous literary links. The first is to one of the UK's most celebrated poets, Edward Thomas. The second link is to the wonderful Jane Austen. Walk in her footsteps through a village unchanged by the passage of time.

Stow on the Wold
Visit the highest market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, Stow on the Wold.
This is the perfect spot for lunch, as you wander along cobbled streets, visit Tolkien's door, see the town stock's, pop into one of the many independent shops or visit the oldest inn in England.


Stanton
We will head to the gorgeous village of Stanton! Here you will have time to wander through the streets admiring the Cotswolds architecture & even see some rare, thatched cottages. Learn the villages usual history with your guide on hand to share a story or two!

Broadway
Broadway's wide treelined street is perfect for a short stroll, soaking up the atmosphere of this vibrant village.
There are plenty of local independent shops, cafe's & restaurants.
If the sun is shinning you could by a picnic from the deli & relax on the village green.
Or explore a couple of museums. This village has something for everyone.
Chipping Campden
For lovers of architecture, you can't miss a stroll along Chipping Campden's main street. Pop into the famous 'Wool Church' & if you haven't seen enough thatched cottages then you can enjoy finding some more on the outskirts of this little town!

Secret Village
Our last stop on the first day before heading back to Moreton in Marsh is our 'Secret Village'.
This village is truly a hidden gem. Imagine the feeling of 'olde-England'. This village is filled with pretty cottages & has a wonderful community vibe.
At the end of the tour we will return to Moreton in Marsh Railway Station

DAY 2:
The 6 Locations you will get out & explore on Day 2

Snowshill
Meeting at Moreton in Marsh Railway Station at 9am we will set off to one of our favourite little villages! Snowshill is as pretty as a postcard, with the church in the village centre & cottages huddled against the hillside, make sure you have your camera ready!

Lower Slaughter
A small but perfectly formed village, filled with tiny cottages huddled next to the river. See a beautiful manor house, visit the fabulous old water mill, discover for yourself why this has been voted one of the most romantic streets in England

Bibury
Arlington Row in Bibury is one of the most photographed collection of cottages in the whole of the Cotswolds. Uncover the villages quirky history with your local guide. There is a lovely circular walk past the nature reserve & the cottages

Upper Slaughter
A doubly thankful village, one of only 13 in the UK! This tranquil cluster of cottages & impressive manor house is tucked away in the rolling Cotswold hills. Walk through the village streets & paddle in the crystal clear waters. You will
discover why this village is so special.
At the end of the tour we will return to Moreton in Marsh Railway Station for 4pm
Bourton on the Water
Often referred to as 'The Venice of the Cotswolds'. This lively village has lots of little stone bridges crossing over the River Windrush.
Explore the independent stores, local perfumery, have a morning coffee or visit the 'model village'

Burford
One of the 'Gateways' to the Cotswolds. Burford is famed for its wonderful independent stores, antique shops & tearooms.
There are beautiful buildings lining the streets & an abundance of history to discover as you explore.

Tours leave from Moreton in Marsh at 9am & return at 4pm
Tour price does not include lunch / refreshments / accommodation
We would recommend arriving the day before your tour & staying in Moreton in Marsh.
We are unable to store luggage, please leave any luggage at your accommodation.
