We spent two days touring with Richard on the Famous Cotswolds and the Hidden Villages Tours. This was an excellent way of seeing the highlights of the central and northern Cotswolds. We were picked up at Moreton-in-Marsh rail station on our first day and did the Famous Cotswolds tour first. I enjoyed this day tremendously as it included the most popular villages which were truly beautiful and offered many places to shop and eat. During the tour my husband wasn't feeling well and Richard was kind enough to drop him off at our hotel in Bourton-on-the-Water when we stopped there for lunch. On our second day we were picked up for the Hidden Villages tour in the morning and visited many less visited attractions, but still very scenic and worthwhile places to see. Richard was a treasure trove of information and anecdotes about the area. The tours were mapped out and timed so that we would reach the more popular areas earlier than "the crowds". Richard offered great recommendations on places to eat and shop.
We had initially planned to rent a car and do a DIY tour of the area, but my husband was concerned about driving from London, especially on the "wrong side" of the road! In hindsight, booking these tours was the smartest thing we did on our trip!!! We noticed immediately that many of the roads in the Cotswolds are very narrow (one-lane wide but must fit two cars!) AND unnamed. With Richard guiding us we learned and experienced a lot more of the Cotswolds than we could ever have on our own. Lucy was very quick to respond during our planning and made it easy to book the tours. They made it convenient for us to visit without having a vehicle as we were dropped off and picked up close to our hotel in Bourton-on-the-Water on both days. We will highly recommend these tours to any of our friends and family visiting the Cotswolds. Thanks to Richard and Lucy for two wonderful days in the Cotswolds
